Manuel Teixeira Gomes Literary Prize

In 2024, the Municipality of Portimão, through the Portimão Municipal Library, opened the Manuel Teixeira Gomes Literary Prize to the novel modality, in order to stimulate literary creation and honor the writer and President of the Republic whose life and work are closely linked to the city and the Algarve.

The delivery of the Manuel Teixeira Gomes Literary Prize and the presentation of the winning works will take place in the context of the official celebrations of the City Day, taking place on December 4, at 6:30 pm.

The prize reserved for the winner has a monetary value of 3500 euros and the printing of 300 copies of his work.

The runner-up, whose work will also have the edition of 300 copies, will receive 1000 euros, with the soap opera ranked third in the edition of 150 copies.
