As part of the “Municipalities for Peace” Movement, Portimão will mark the International Day of Peace with several symbolic actions. Join us!
“For Peace” – discover the hundreds of white doves that decorate the 1st of December Garden, with words alluding to PEACE, produced by the users of the Senior Living Center of Portimão, Senior Living Center of Aldeia das Sobreiras and partners of the “Correio dos Afetos” project (Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Portimão, Colégio do Rio, Lar da Criança, Good Samaritan and Children’s Home of Portimão)
10:00 AM: Human Cord Training for Peace
Wear a white t-shirt and join the residents of the Community Neighborhoods in this symbolic act for peace!
Meeting point: Jardim 1.º Dezembro (route to the bandstand)
11:00 am: Release of doves by the Associação Columbófila de Portimão
Location: Bandstand – riverside area of Portimão
16:00 pm: Concert by the Young Talents of the “Suzuki de Portimão Program” by teacher Rebecca Christopherson with the participation of the Algarve Youth Orchestra

Also join the movement White window for peace to which the Municipality also associates, and hang a white cloth in the window of the house in a visible way. Then, you can share a photo or video of your White Window for Peace and tag the account White Window for Peace and the hashtag #JanelaBrancaPelaPaz.
On this International Day of Peace, take the opportunity to make a quiet visit to the Caravel Vera Cruz, which is currently anchored at the Gil Eanes Pier.
