Easter Holidays Portimão 2026

The Easter Holidays are coming and, between March 30th and April 10th, the Municipality of Portimão promotes another edition of the Easter Holidays program, aimed at children in the municipality aged between 6 and 12 years old.

This program aims to provide a safe, healthy, active and educational occupation of free time during the school break, through a diverse set of activities in the areas of sport and culture, designed for the well-being and development of children.

The activities take place in the morning, between 9:00 am and 1:00 pm, and are organized in two weekly shifts, subject to mandatory registration, subject to the availability of existing vacancies for each week and equipment.

  Week 2: April 6th to 10th

Thinking about the proximity to families, the program takes place in various municipal facilities in the municipality, integrating cultural and sports proposals, namely in the Manuel Teixeira Gomes Municipal Library, in the Museum of Portimão, in the Sports Pavilion of Boavista, in the Sports Complex of Alvor and in the Sports Complex of Mexilhoeira Grande.

BIBLIOTECA MANUEL TEIXEIRA GOMES

At the Manuel Teixeira Gomes Municipal Library, children participate in a set of playful and pedagogical activities that stimulate imagination, creativity and a taste for reading.

Throughout the week, each day is dedicated to a different book, which serves as a starting point for stories, cooperative games and plastic expression activities. From the narratives, children are invited to explore concentration, imagination and creativity exercises, also promoting moments of sharing opinions, feelings and the development of critical sense.

MUSEU DE PORTIMÃO

The Museum of Portimão presents different proposals for each week, combining art, science and discovery, in a practical and engaging way.

1st week: “The World Through Your Eyes”

This week, children explore the Painting Exhibition and discover different forms of artistic expression. From observation and experimentation, they are challenged to create works inspired by the city of Portimão, using varied colors, shapes and techniques.

2nd Week: “Tales of Air, Land and Sea”

Through contact with elements of nature, children become little scientists and create their own Nature Book. Using collections of feathers, leaves, bones, shells, fruits and other natural materials, they carry out various manual activities, such as markers in empreita, feathers in paper and wire, megalodon teeth in clay and footprint stamps.

These activities allow you to understand, in a simple and fun way, the functioning of the biosphere, geosphere, lithosphere and hydrosphere, and how all these systems are interconnected.

The municipal sports facilities offer a varied program of physical and sports activities, promoting movement, teamwork and healthy lifestyle habits.

Among the proposed activities are: gymnastics, traditional games, team games, swimming, pickleball, football, water polo, mini rugby, golf, dance and many others, always adapted to the different ages and levels of development of the children.
