Healthy Eating Workshops

On September 30, between 10:30 am and 1:00 pm, the Manuel Teixeira Gomes Municipal Library will host the first workshop of the “Healthy Eating” cycle, promoted by Lyudmyla Mischuk (mila_vegana), healthy food blogger.
The session is dedicated to the theme “The importance of colors in our food” and is aimed at the community in general, inviting them to discover in a practical and fun way how the variety of colors on the plate contributes to a balanced and tasty diet.
This initiative is part of the “Healthy Eating” project, integrated in the Literacy and Health Program of the Municipality of Portimão, and is the result of a partnership with the ADRA Association, with the aim of raising awareness in the community for the adoption of healthier, cheaper and more sustainable lifestyles, while alerting to the reduction of food waste and the impact of food choices on physical and mental well-being.
After this first session, new workshops will follow with different themes and target audiences:
-
October 16 – Fighting food waste – imagination with leftovers and useful tips for reusing food, at the School of Hospitality and Tourism of Portimão, aimed at EHTP students, within the scope of International Food Day and World Bread Day.
-
October 23 – How our food choices influence our mood, at the Pedagogical Farm, aimed at the population of ASMAL – Mental Health Association of the Algarve.
-
November 13 – Healthy cooking – A look at vegetarian food, myths and realities, also at the Pedagogical Farm, for users of Portimão’s social and community centers.
-
December 4 – Sugar-free Christmas sweets, again at the Manuel Teixeira Gomes Municipal Library, aimed at families and children.
Participation is free, providing the community with the opportunity to learn useful and practical tips for eating better, wasting less, and living healthier.
