I Manuel Teixeira Gomes Music Festival

The creation of the Manuel Teixeira Gomes Music Festival, by <span style=”color:#222222;”>Associação Barlavento Ensemble, is nothing more than the fair recognition and gratitude for this greatest and unique figure of Portuguese politics and culture, especially for its most illustrious countryman that the city of Portimão saw born.

Writer, excellent diplomat, President of the Republic, self-confessed music lover and tireless admirer of the artistic beauty that his eyes and ears could contemplate in his time (an aesthete with an attentive and meticulous eye), Manuel Teixeira Gomes knew how like no other to have the verticality of character not to be sullied by the deviations of interest and the misguided options that were politically presented to him in life.

It is in this sense, that <span style=”color:#222222;”>Associação Barlavento Ensemble pays it the fairest tribute com the creation of a Music Festival com your name.

This edition will feature four chamber music recitals, which will be held weekly during the month of October at the Manuel Teixeira Gomes House Museum.
