“The Weight of Color” on display at CMTG

Free“The Weight of Color”, an exhibition of Painting by Raquel Taquelim de Almeida will be on display at Casa Manuel Teixeira Gomes from January 4th.
The works reflect on various aspects of both a social and aesthetic nature, with a special focus on color. They are also a cold testimony,
stripped of social prejudices from various quarters, highlighting some elements linked to the volumetry of the bodies.
The plastic of details of shape, color, contrasts and framing is highlighted, without forgetting romanticism.
This work also referred to a deeper analysis, in which the importance of art is highlighted.
Raquel Taquelim de Almeida was born in Lisbon but currently resides in Portimão. In 2014 he completed his degree in Painting at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon.
In 2010 and 2011, at the “64 et 65 ème Salons des Artistes du Hurepoix”, Ville de Sainte-Geneviève-des-Bois, Sud Parisien, in 2012, at the exhibition of Contemporary Tapestry – “Next Vision” -, at the Wool Museum of the University of Beira Interior; in 2013, at the exhibition “18th Exhibition of Plastic Arts” in Vendas Novas; at the exhibition “ENTREvenção” at the Condes de Castro Guimarães Museum-Library, in Cascais. In 2014 he participated in the ARTLAB Experimental Protocol, contemporary tapestry at the Tapestry Museum of Portalegre, also in the collective of Fine Arts Finalists “Painting Today: Part I” in the culture space, AXA Building . Also in 2014 and in partnership he made a mural for RTP to mark the 40th anniversary of the 25th of April entitled «E Depois de Abril».
