Portimão hosts seminar “Pensar Turismo, pensar Algarve”

TEMPO – Teatro Municipal de Portimão will host the seminar “Pensar Turismo, pensar Algarve”, promoted by the Instituto Superior Manuel Teixeira Gomes (ISMAT) in partnership with Turismo de Portugal, through the Hospitality and Tourism schools of Faro, Portimão and Vila Real de Sto. António, and with the support of the Municipality of Portimão.
The main objective of the seminar is to demonstrate to students from the western Algarve that tourism is a profession of the future, with representatives of Turismo de Portugal, local government, State delegations linked to education and employment, secondary schools, associations and companies in the sector expected at the event.
Participants will discuss the need for specialized training for current and future employees in the hotel and tourism sectors, and part of the work is the presentation of the “Qualificar Gera(Ação)” program, a partnership between ISMAT’s Degree in Tourism Management and companies in the sector operating in the Algarve.
In addition to the guests representing hotels, travel agencies, entertainment companies, restaurants and associations, teachers and students from the three Turismo de Portugal schools teaching in the region will also be present, from the Secondary Schools of Portimão (Manuel Teixeira Gomes, Poeta António Aleixo and Bemposta), Lagos (Gil Eanes and Júlio Dantas), Lagoa (Father António Martins Oliveira) and also the Silves Secondary School.
