Philosophy Spring Festival 2025
May 7 - June 6
Free
The Living Philosophers Club of the Manuel Teixeira Gomes Secondary School, in Portimão, has made public the program of the third edition of the Philosophy Spring Festival, a cultural event that will take place during the month of May.
It is a festival of philosophy, music, cinema, art, performance, theatre and literature, whose “B-side” spirit (of the School and the philosophy that is taught in it) aims to provide young adolescents with cognitive and aesthetic experiences that are different from what they are used to, likely to create healthy “restlessness”, new emotions and a strong enchantment, desirably unforgettable.
This year’s edition has as its main theme the love of books and literature. The events listed below will take place in different spaces and facilities in the city, with a strong involvement of reference collectivities and the business fabric of the municipality.
Program:

On the eve of May 10th, the date of the beginning, in 1933, of the infamous “Nazi black night”, in which thousands of books were burned in the streets of Berlin and other German cities, we will celebrate the Book and the defense of freedom of expression as an inalienable heritage of Democracy and the 25th of April.
