Musical/visual show with guitar, string quartet and voice-over, evocative of the journeys made by Manuel Teixeira Gomes along the Mediterranean basin and the influence they had on the creative universe of the great man of the First Republic and Portuguese letters.

Jóia Pedro Jóia began playing guitar at the age of seven at the Academia dos Amadores de Música, in Lisbon, and then continued at the National Conservatory, where he would complete his classical guitar studies. At the same time, he began the study of flamenco guitar. He began performing solo and with other instrumental formations from the age of 19. He lived in Rio de Janeiro between 2003 and 2007 where he played and recorded with great names of MPB such as Ney Matogrosso, Simone or Gilberto Gil. In 2008 he received the Carlos Paredes Award with his album “À Espera de Armandinho”. He has performed as a soloist with orchestras and chamber ensembles. He performs regularly with the “Arabesque Quartet”. Since 2015 he has been developing a musical relationship with the American flutist Susan Palma Nidel. Since 2013 he has been part of the collective Resistência, combining this activity with his personal projects, such as the Pedro Jóia Trio, solo or duo concerts, accompanied by percussion. Between 2013 and 2019 he worked live and in recordings with Mariza. He composes regularly for theatre and film.
