Manuel Teixeira Gomes Literary Prize encourages literary creation

The Municipality of Portimão, through its Library, once again institutes the Manuel Teixeira Gomes Literary Prize, open to the novel modality, in order to stimulate literary creation and honor the writer and President of the Republic whose life and work are closely linked to Portimão and the Algarve.
The works in the competition, under free theme, must be unpublished and written in Portuguese, in a maximum of 80 pages in A4 paginated format, and all national authors, citizens of Portuguese-speaking or EU-speaking countries and foreigners with regularized stay in the country may compete.
The complete regulation will be available at the email address https://cm-portimao.pt/menus/servicos/biblioteca/premio-teixeira-gomes, where you can also find the form that competitors must fill in, with name, email address, identification number, VAT number and telephone contact, pseudonym and title of the respective work, submitting their papers, in PDF format, between 10:00 a.m. on June 10, 2025 and 3:00 p.m. on July 31, 2025, mainland Portugal time.
