FreeThe Large and Small Families workshops return on October 12 at the Municipal Library of Portimão, with the session “Flying from tale to tale”.
In this session books come to life in a surprising way! With pop-ups, album-books, and other creative forms of visual storytelling, we are transported by stories that make us fly without leaving the place. Each page opens up to a new world, where imagination and art meet. An unforgettable journey through unique books, which reveal the power of stories in a playful and interactive way.
On November 30, Kamishibai – Paper Theater
Kamishibai is a traditional Japanese form of storytelling using paper illustrations, displayed in a small wooden theater called “butai”. While the stories are narrated , we can see the illustrations playing on the butai
On January 25th – Stories in the den
The Burrow is a place full of stories and fun, let’s explore together a world of animals, magic and fantasy. In this welcoming space, each tale takes us on new adventures. Come and discover the incredible stories that live in the Rabbit Lord’s Burrow!
22 February – Between Howls and Tales
This session takes the audience on a journey through the forest, where stories full of adventures are found. Some more traditional and familiar, others surprising and modern. At every step, the narratives reveal wolves, which can be the unexpected villains or heroes, defying expectations. It’s a magical experience, where timeless lessons emerge in captivating ways, sparking the imagination and inviting everyone to reflect on the power of tales.
29 March – My grandmother’s stories
My Grandmother’s Stories Session” is a special moment where we share traditional tales and rhymes that have been passed down from generation to generation by grandmothers. Each story is a journey into the past, full of wisdom and magic.
31 May – Mar d’estórias Let’s
embark together on an exciting journey through the sea of stories. We will explore tales that take us on fantastic and surprising adventures on the seas, where ships, pirates and sea creatures are present.
Biographical note of (facilitator)
Joana Charneco, known affectionately as “Joana das Histórias”, has a Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education and 1st Cycle Teaching, with a specialization in Art of Storytelling from ISEC. Over the years, she has participated in several training courses that have deepened her knowledge of children’s literature and the art of storytelling. Her passion for stories is endless, she believes that we are all made of stories and that it is through them that we connect, learn about the world and discover more about ourselves.
For Joana, each tale is an opportunity to travel to new worlds, learn valuable lessons, and strengthen the bonds that unite us. In addition, she is the author of the “Toca do Conto” page on social networks, where she shares her passion and inspires others to discover the transformative power of stories. Its goal is to bring magic, inspiration and emotion, allowing everyone to “fly without leaving the place”
