Atelier Big and Small “25 de Abrir: the April that made us”

April 27

Free

In the year of the commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the 25th of April, of freedom and democracy, the Library has opted for a story that portrays this extremely significant historical period for the country.

The book “25 de Abrir: o Abril que nos faz” is recommended by the National Reading Plan and states in the synopsis: “Memories are things that remain from time that passes. Things we remember. Many years ago, a day full of desire to change our lives was left to become a memory. Your memory. The memory of all of us. I am talking about the 25th of April in 1974. It was many years ago, but what happened is still so important that it is worth going down in history to tell this story. It was the day of a Revolution. But a revolution in which the flowers were stronger than all the strength of the world. Without this day we could not live Freedom. Nor shout Long Live Freedom. It was a day of opening up new memories.”

This initiative is part of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) under “Peace, justice and diverse institutions” and is aimed at children from 4 to 10 years old.
