At Casa Manuel Teixeira Gomes there are “Horizons of Hope”

The Photography Exhibition “Horizons of Hope”, by Breno de Araújo, organized by the Lighthouse project, of the Vale da Bênção Community, opens at Casa Manuel Teixeira Gomes on November 5th.
The formal opening of the exhibition takes place on November 7, at 6:00 pm.
The Lighthouse Project of the Vale da Blessing Community exists to illuminate lives through solidarity, education and service. We believe that hope is born when we unite faith, love and practical action in favor of others.
This solidarity photography exhibition comes as a result of our missions in Portugal, Zanzibar, Thailand and Angola.
Through the sensitive lens of photographer Breno de Araújo, each image shares real stories of communities that face poverty and profound challenges on a daily basis. More than portraying the harshness of life, the photographs invite us to reflect on how privileged we are and remind us that we all have a role in bringing hope, love and dignity to those who need it most.
The images capture our missionary journey: the encounter with different cultures, the pain and beauty that coexist, but also the transformation that happens when we choose to serve. Every look, every face and every scenario reveals that, even in the midst of suffering, there is room for the light of hope.
We believe in the transformative power of education, so in addition to social support actions, we also develop educational programs that promote opportunities and real change. This exhibition aims to inspire hearts to get involved in this mission: to transform lives and build bridges of hope.
Synopsis:
The Lighthouse Project promoted by Comunidade Vale da Benção exists to bring light into lives through solidarity, education, and service. We believe that hope is born when faith, love, and practical action come together in service to others.
This photography exhibition is the result of our missions in Portugal, Zanzibar, Thailand, and Angola. Through the sensitive lens of photographer Breno de Araújo, each image tells real stories of communities facing poverty and hardship on a daily basis. More than portraying struggle, the photographs invite us to reflect on how privileged we are, and remind us that each of us has a role in carrying hope, love, and dignity to those in need.
The images capture our missionary journey: encounters with different cultures, the coexistence of pain and beauty, but also the transformation that happens when we choose to serve. Every look, every face, every landscape reveals that even in the midst of suffering, there is room for the light of hope.
We believe in the transforming power of education; that is why, beyond social support, we also develop educational programs that create opportunities and real change. This exhibition seeks to inspire hearts to join this mission: to transform lives and build bridges of hope.
Breno Araújo, 26, was born in Rio de Janeiro and currently lives in the Algarve, Portugal.
It was here that he rediscovered his gaze through the lens — transforming photography and video into forms of expression and connection with the world around him.
In the Lighthouse Project, he combined his love for audiovisual with a cause he deeply believes in: using art as an instrument to transform lives.
In 2025, she had remarkable experiences in Portimão (Portugal), Zanzibar, Thailand and Angola, which broadened her view and strengthened her desire to tell real stories.
In this exhibition, Breno shares fragments of these paths — unique instants where light, wind and time intersect.
For him, photographing is pausing time and keeping the essence of what does not come back.
